This project revitalizes a historic rooftop in Valletta, creating a multifunctional green space that enhances biodiversity and urban resilience. The design incorporates native and adaptive plants, shaded seating areas, and a living wall that improves air quality and thermal performance.
By integrating greenery into a dense urban fabric, the intervention reduces the heat island effect and promotes social engagement. The combination of soft landscaping and permeable surfaces ensures sustainable water management, while the rooftop’s elevated position offers unique views of the city. This initiative not only preserves Valletta’s heritage but also redefines urban sustainability through green infrastructure.
